The Federal and State of Arizona Fair Housing Acts make it unlawful treat people differently and adversely in any aspect of housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability or the fact there is a child under 18 yrs of age in the household. Real estate advertising is one area in which possible fair housing issues might arise. Advertising - whether in the broadcast media, print media or on the internet - that indicates a preference or limitation with regard to accessing housing opportunity and which implicates one or more of the seven characteristics listed above could raise a fair housing issue.
SWFHC is pleased to offer fair housing refresher sessions for classified ad newspaper staff, trade publication staff, and interested others with regard to fair housing and advertising.
